Why We Prioritize Story

When we thought about doing our first music video, we approached a few companies.

$7.5k was the quote for a 5 min video.

We knew we would simply have to figure out how to do it ourselves! We had a whole world we wanted to show you… and we couldn’t show it all in one video.

SO MANY since then have asked us about our “production process.”

Most of the time it’s an iPhone in the woods.

It’s our IMAGINATION that makes a Jack and Gin production so spectacular. So many prioritize fancy equipment. And who doesn’t want the BEST? Especially when you can afford it…

But what if you simply can’t afford the top notch equipment? What are you supposed to do? Just not try? Just not perform? Just not give the world your gift?

Jack and Gin wanted to show just HOW BIG you can do it with very little.

So we used LANDSCAPES to make our videos feel expensive. We used ALREADY BUILT IN crowds. We created LARGER THAN LIFE characters.

STORY makes up for PRODUCTION. Every. Single. Time.

STORY is what draws people in and keeps them in. It’s what builds worlds and builds TRUST in your fanbase.

We didn’t chase an algorithm. We built trust with our people.

When you watch a Jack and Gin video… you KNOW you’ll witness RICH storytelling that has NOTHING TO DO with production cost!

And we know you always tell your friends.

Every view is organic. Every “like” is a real person.

We take that seriously. And as we grow… we’ll never forget that our mission is to connect with our fans through story.

We’re not here to wow you with production cost. We’re here to pull you up to our fireside and remind you what it’s like to be lost in real southern storytelling.

Jack and Gin is an indie Southern rock duo bringing coastal storytelling, powerhouse vocals, electric guitar, and piano-driven soul to the stage. Led by Sandi “Gin” MarLisa and Eli “Jack” Ingram, their music blends Southern rock, folk, blues, and raw, rootsy charm into a sound they call Salty South.
